KC Current to host MO Youth Soccer Association High School Girls State Cup including Champions Weekend
The KC Current and Missouri Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) have signed a multi-year agreement that will see Missouri Youth Soccer bring its top female competitive games to the Kansas City market. Games will be played at the KC Current Training Facility the first and second weekends in October with group play the first weekend and then featuring the Semifinal and Championship games of both State Cup and Presidents Cup over the second weekend.
Nik Bushell, Executive Director of MYSA noted: “Missouri Youth Soccer supports the vision of the KC Current model and to be able to show these athletes what a professional pathway may look like and have them competing in such an incredible environment is a huge boost to these young women and the sport.
The Missouri State Cup is the first step in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, the oldest national youth soccer championship in the United States. The event in Kansas City will see nearly 2,000 high school age girls attend and participate over the two weekends. In total nearly 185,000 players from over 9,000 teams participate in the event from ages 13 to 19.
