It’s an exciting week for soccer in St. Louis with voting on Proposition 1 & 2, opening day for STLFC (as well as the Cardinals), Jennings High School team in full swing with games vs Tower Grove Christian and U-City, and the beginning of the spring season for FC1821, the Jennings Youth Soccer camps!
The eight-week soccer program will start on Saturday, April 8th at 2:30 PM on the Jennings Senior High Stadium Turf Field and will run for 8 consecutive weeks. This past fall, over 70 children from Jennings participated in the first season (great pictures attached). We expect to have a similar turnout and look forward to another great group of kids.
The UMSL women’s soccer team will return to share their passion and knowledge of the game as well as build strong community relationships. It was awesome to see Jennings students come to a few UMSL games to cheer on the players.
Thank you once again to Coach Dillinger, Nik Bushell and Ryan Wallace for making this happen. And welcome Coach Scot Vorwold from Harris-Stowe and Dr. Tonya Harris from Preclarus Mastery Academy, who will be joining forces in the fall. More to come on this in May!

Ole’s MYSA Article from Fall 2016 http://missourisoccer.org/discover-soccer-project/
The establishment of FC1821 has a single purpose of bringing the game of soccer to Missouri communities which may not otherwise have the opportunity or exposure to the game. The overall objective is to create a fun, educational, and safe environment; to cultivate a love for the game among the players; to ensure that they have fun at practice; and to make sure that parents and players enjoy their soccer experience. The curriculum is largely based on “Practice Makes Perfect” by Denny Vaninger, former US Men’s National Team player, former St. Louis Steamer, and current Director of Coaching and Education for the Missouri Youth Soccer Association.
